Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 30, 2026
Introduction
This policy explains what raildriver.org collects when you visit, why it collects it, and how long it stays. It applies to this website only, not to any retailer or manufacturer site you reach from here.
Using the site means you accept this policy. The revision date above marks the current version.
Information We Collect
Analytics data arrives automatically: pages viewed, approximate region, referring page, browser and device type, and time on page. It reaches us in aggregate, not tied to your name.
If you submit the contact form or the email signup field, the address and message you type are what we receive. We ask for nothing else, and we request no payment details at any point.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive categories of personal data, and we do not buy visitor lists from third parties.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies store your banner choice so the notice stops reappearing, and they let the analytics script count a return visit as one visitor rather than two.
Decline the banner, or clear cookies in your browser settings, and analytics measurement stops for that browser. Blocking cookies entirely leaves the pages readable.
Outbound retailer links may set their own cookies once you arrive on the retailer's site, including affiliate-attribution cookies. Those are governed by the retailer's policy.
How We Use the Information
Aggregate analytics tell us which guides get read and which pages people leave quickly, which is how the content gets revised.
A contact-form message is used to answer that message. We do not add form submitters to a marketing list without a separate opt-in.
Third-Party Services and Links
Google Analytics processes site traffic measurement on our behalf and operates under its own privacy terms.
The Amazon Associates Program sets attribution cookies on outbound clicks so qualifying purchases can be credited. Amazon's own privacy notice covers everything that happens after you leave this site.
We publish no visitor data to advertisers and we do not sell personal information.
Data Retention and Security
Aggregate analytics records are retained on a rolling basis and then discarded. Contact-form correspondence is deleted once the exchange is finished.
The site is served over HTTPS. No transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, and we hold no payment data that would be worth intercepting.
Your Rights and Choices
Ask us for a copy of any correspondence we hold from you, or ask us to delete it, and we will act on the request.
Residents of the EEA, the UK, California and other jurisdictions with statutory data rights may exercise those rights by writing to the address below.
Children's Privacy
This site targets adult buyers of PC simulation hardware and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.
If you believe a child has sent us personal data, write to us and we will remove it.
Changes to This Policy
Amendments appear on this page with an updated revision date. Material changes will be summarised at the top of the section they affect.
Review this page periodically so you know what the current version says.
